Bird Study Group - 2005 Competition Prizes
Overview -- Rules -- Support docs -- Prizes -- FAQs -- Other Regions

While the purpose of the contest was friendly competition and the increase of knowledge about the birds in the Calgary area, it doesn't hurt to have a reward for all the work which is entailed in achieving a "big list".

The following individuals or organizations have generously donated prizes.

Donated by Iron River Ranch Wildlife Adventure Tours:
Smudge Island Tour - Extension

NOTE: This prize is open to all regional participants and will go to the individual in the province with the highest count within their registered region. In the event of a tie, a draw will be made to determine the winner.

Iron River Ranch Wildlife Adventure Tours is offering a birding tour for one person with the highest provincial bird count registered in the 2005 Alberta Centennial birding competition. This all-inclusive tour will take place on June 17-19, 2006 on the North Saskatchewan River adjacent Jubilee Regional Park. Trip includes 2 days birding on The North Saskatchewan River and islands with river transportation on a 7 person jet boat, 2 nights and breakfasts at Else's Bed and Breakfast, and 2 Iron River Ranch champagne picnics on the islands. Islands to be visited: Smudge, Otter, Treasure, Moose, Miskum, Kenosis and Mistapos. Value $600 per person.
